Privacy Policy
StockPulse · Effective 26 July 2026
StockPulse (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is an inventory counting app for Shopify, developed and operated by Ambry Labs (ambrylabs.com), a software studio based in India. This policy explains what data the App handles when a merchant installs it on their Shopify store, why, and how it is deleted.
Data we collect from your Shopify store
When you install StockPulse, you authorize it (through Shopify’s permission system) to access:
- Products and variants — titles, SKUs, barcodes, prices, and images, so counts can list what you stock.
- Inventory levels and locations — current quantities at each store location, so counts have an expected value to compare against, and so approved corrections can be written back.
- Order line items — order ID, line-item ID, variant, quantity, unit price, and sale time, used solely to calculate sales velocity (how fast items sell). We do not collect or store your customers’ names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, or payment details.
Data you enter in the App
- Team members — the names (and optional email addresses) of staff you add, plus their counter PIN. PINs are stored hashed; an encrypted copy exists only so store managers can reveal a forgotten PIN from the Team page.
- Operational records — count sessions, counted quantities, batch/expiry dates, transfers, alert history, and app settings.
How we use data
Only to provide the App’s features to your store: running counts, computing discrepancies and analytics, generating alerts, and pushing approved corrections back to Shopify. We do not sell data, share it with advertisers, use it to train AI models, or use it for any purpose unrelated to operating the App.
Where data is stored
Your store’s data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure located in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Our error monitoring may capture request metadata (such as your store’s domain) but not your customers’ personal data. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify — we never see your payment information.
Data deletion
- On uninstall — Shopify notifies us, and roughly 48 hours later sends a deletion request, at which point we permanently purge all data stored for your store: inventory records, counts, batches, team members, sales events, alerts, and settings.
- Customer data requests — because we store no customer personal data, Shopify’s customer data-request and customer-redact webhooks are acknowledged with nothing to return or delete.
- On request — email us at any time to have your store’s data exported or deleted sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you operate, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, including access, correction, and erasure of personal data we hold (for StockPulse this is limited to the team-member details you entered). Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and note the new effective date above.
